1. Health is never an excuse for him-
Health problems are widespread among septuagenarians, and Mr. Bachchan, at the age of 74, is dealing with his own set of problems. Due to a long and tumultuous experience of the Hepatitis B virus, he is said to be alive on just 25% of his liver. He also suffers from Asthma as well as myasthenia gravis, an unusual muscular condition. If you watch some of his recent movies you will not even feel this from his out of the world performances.
2. Smita Patil had a premonition
He received a phone call from Smita Patil at midnight the day before his injury on the sets of Collie, asking about his fitness. Smita Patil had a sinking feeling after seeing a dream in which Amitabh Bachchan was injured. Amitabh told her that he was fine, the next day he was injured near critically on the sets of Coolie.

Manmohan Desai gave Amitabh Bachchan the very first Vanity Van in Bollywood, which he received as a present.

He is an avid collector of watches and pens, with tens of thousands of pens in his collection. Every year on his birthday, the German company Mont Blanc gives him a unique pen as a present.

Amitabh Bachchan is the very first Asian actor to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London. His statues were also mounted in New York and Hong Kong in 2009. He is the one who paved the way for many Bollywood artists to Madame Tussauds.
