Katrina Kaif was considered too but it did not work out, so the role went to Kareena Kapoor and Salman, the idea got shelved again because the pair already starred in another movie. From Hrithik Roshan to Ajay Devgan many actors were considered but eventually, the role went to Ranveer Singh and Deepika organically after Ram-Leela.

2.          Desi and videsi juggle for PC.

      

When Priyanka landed the role of Kashibai she underwent a difficult course of 15 days to learn the Marathi dialect that was spoken during the accession of Peshwas. This was also the time when Priyanka was taking American accent classes for the show Quantico, her Hollywood debut show.

3.The famous dance moves did not come from famous choreographers.

You may not know this but the movie holds a Guinness world record, the song of the movie “ Gajanana” was launched at the balewadi stadium in Pune where over 5000 students were present and they gathered themselves together to make the largest formation of Lord Ganesha. It holds the record of the largest human formation of a deity.

6.     The movie was a breeding ground for controversies-

 

It is common for historical dramas to indulge in controversies, this Sanjay Bhansali film is loosely based upon the novel “RAU”. The novel has been into speculation for quite some time. In different versions of the story different versions of the characters exist. To begin with, there is no record of the love story of the two main characters. However, a disclaimer is shown that the movie is not historically accurate; instead Bhansali took some liberties for cinematic effects.
