1.  Nargis Fakhri making her debut with no knowledge-

 

Did you know that the American model Nargis Fakhri had absolutely no idea about Bollywood! Some can say she leaped in faith when it comes to her debut. She had no idea about the iconic clan Ranbir Kapoor hails from or the living legend Amitabh Bachchan. She entered with no clue and made it to the blockbuster’s chart with her debut. 2.          The guru shishya duo in real life-

 

Did you know that the character of ustad Jameel Khan is played by none other than the king of yesteryear of Bollywood Shammi Kapoor, who happens to be the real-life grandfather of Ranbir Kapoor. Notice how he is the first one to notice the talent of Janardhan. We bet you didn’t know this!

3.          The secret behind the Rockstar!

We all swoon over the perfect transformation of Janardhan to Jordan but did you know there was a secret transformation of Ranbir Kapoor to Jordan?

 

Imtiaz Ali in an interview talks about how Ranbir ended up taking guitar lessons to prepare for the character. Imtiaz mentioned that Ranbir not only religiously took his guitar lessons but spent countless nights in A.R Rahman’s music studio. So when he ended up on the stage shooting for scenes he didn’t have to pretend to know the music and treat it as his own, he actually knew the music inside out and didn’t act but lived the emotions. 

4.          The linear story was actually shot in reverse-

   

The iconic end of the movie leaves us with tears and unspeakable emotions were actually the first scenes that were shot! Imtiaz for sure pulled some inception moves on us. The whole movie is shot in reverse, the reason given was simply the iconic Jim Morrison impersonation by haircut would be messed up if the movie was shot in the progression of the story.

5.          Ranbir takes credit for the making of the movie!

 

Ranbir in many interviews said that he pitched the idea of giving life to this script. The story goes such that when Ranbir was working on his debut, Imtiaz approached him with this script but it did not work out. However, a few years later when the director approached him with another script, Ranbir asked about Rockstar, casually, but again the idea was shelved. Until 3 months later when Imtiaz went to Ranbir with the final script of our beloved Rockstar.
